Young People

“Your Futures, Take Control”

Background
Youth Programmes, formerly known as E2E Personal Development Programmes deliver activities and opportunities to young people whilst they are still attending college, school or another training provider.

Our programmes are tailor-made to cater for our partner’s specific needs and activities aim to teach life skills such as problem solving, working with others and leadership; this encourages young people from 14 years onwards to take responsibility for their actions in life. Our key target groups are:

  • 14 – 16 year olds at risk of exclusion or becoming NEET’s
    (Not in Education, Employment and Training).
  • 16 – 19 year old NEET’s
  • E2E (Entry to Employment) & Pre E2E students
  • Young adults who feel work opportunities are unreachable due to disabilities, criminal backgrounds, dependencies or low self esteem

Partner Organisations
Since starting this programme back in 2006 as part of the Watford YMCA’s Youth Development Department, we have made some invaluable long-term partnerships with the following educational and youth organisations to offer this unique programme to hundreds of students in and around Hertfordshire. They are;

  • Herts Desire Ltd
  • Harrow College
  • Hertford Regional College
  • Oaklands College
  • West Herts College
  • Youth Connexions Hertfordshire

Achievements
In May 2008, we were delighted to be accepted as one of the first inaugural organisations to become a Key Stage 4 Alternative Provider with Hertfordshire County Council. This means that schools, training providers and other Key Stage 4 centres can purchase our programmes directly in the knowledge that we have been accepted onto their on-line catalogue – www.hertschoices.org.uk

In a nutshell
Our uniqueness is our versatility and ability to be able to adapt a programme to fit into anyone’s curriculum or specific requirements, Mon – Fri, 52 weeks a year (regardless of term times and summer holidays). We can range from a one day event to a 6-week summer long programme to accommodate young people who would benefit from our extensive range of activities and workshops, to mention just a few below;

Residential weeks, Go-Karting, Food Hygiene Certificates, Herts Fire and Rescue Service activity days, Football Stadium Tours, Anger Management Workshops, Crime and Prevention Workshops, Sports Coaching, Money Matters Workshops, Hair and Fashion, Bullying Workshops, Community Projects, Work Experience, First Aid Certificates, Self-Defence, and many more.
